The Digital Art and Animation Exhibition and Competition has come a long way from its early beginnings with a handful of entries to what it is today, a National event that has opened its arms to students of all schools, religions, ethnicities and different walks of life. It has provided a common place for talent to excel and to bring to focus the brilliance of so many students whose work deserves notice and recognition.
Through the last decade the competition has by promoting Computer Art, built students interests in learning Technology and Computer skills that would help them in whatever field they chose to follow in years to come. Students have also intertwined the Exhibition and Competition with significant world events and expressed their views, feelings and opinions on so many historical happenings throughout the decade, from the election of the United States first African President Barack Obama, to the devastating impact and tragedy of the tsunami, to the death of a pop icon Michael Jackson to ongoing issues of climate change and global warming.
Knowledge and ability in Digital Art and Animation has given students the confidence to express their emotions, create their own interpretations of what they see around them and to put forth their unique solutions to help understand our world and make it a better place.
I congratulate each and every participant of this event for their contribution to Digital Art and Animation and thank the schools, the teachers and everyone who was involved in making this event a success.
