Secondary School
The Secondary school (200 + students aged 11- 19 years)
This section offers a broad and balanced education and a wide number of subjects are available.
In Years 7, 8 and 9, students follow a common curriculum consisting of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Integrated Science (leading into Physics, Chemistry and Biology), Computing, History, Geography, a Modern Language, Art, Games and PE.
In Years 10 and 11 students normally study 8 to 10 subjects and they take the London Edexcel GCSE/GCE O Level examinations at the end of Year 11.
Entry into the AS/A2 Level classes of Years 12 and 13 normally requires a good performance at O Level with 6 or more high grade (A- C) passes.
In Years 12 and 13 students usually study 4 main academic subjects selected from Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing, English Literature, Geography, History, Economics, Business Studies and Accounting.
A 2-year course leads to Edexcel GCE A Level qualifications.
The School gives full guidance and advice on university entrance and future careers. Students from the School have entered universities in Britain, Australia, Malaysia and elsewhere.
Each term there are a series of parents' afternoons in all sections of the School when parents can meet teachers to discuss academic progress.
Extra - Curricular Programme
The School has an extensive extra-curricular programme at all levels involving drama, a wide range of sports, cultural activities and more general clubs eg. Scrabble.
Each section of the School stages a major drama production each year and recent productions have included 'The King and I', 'Oliver' and 'The Giant Slayer'.
Cricket, Swimming, Basketball, Athletics and Soccer are the most popular sports.
The plurality of the School is celebrated with a wide range of special assemblies which celebrate Wesak, Ramazan, Christmas, Deepavali etc.
